WMEA Encoding Guide
1. Recommended Codecs:
For MPEG-2 files .ts / .mpg / .vob (unencrypted DVD file)
Install Elecard MPEG-2 3.0 Decoder & Streaming Pack on your PC.
Some .vob files can not be played by WMP, but still can be encoded by WMEA.
Recommend Microsoft Windows XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility for configuring MPEG-2 decoder.
For AC3 audio content
Install AC3Filter (1.11 tested) on your PC.
Configured output mode of AC3Filter for 3/2+SW or other multi-channel setting
For MPEG-4 files .avi
Install FFdshow (build 20060810 tested) on your PC.
For Real Media files .ra / .rm. / rmvb
Install Real Alternative on your PC.
For QuickTime files .mov / .hdmov / .qt / .3gp
Install QuickTime Alternative (1.78 tested) on your PC.
Make sure your source files can be played correctly by WMP.
2. Add your files to WMEA job list.
3. Set encoding settings.
Using 1pass encoding mode (CBR-1Pass, VBR-Quality) for AC3 audio content.If you use 2pass encoding mode (CBR-2Pass, VBR-ABR, VBR-PBR) for AC3 audio, the size of output file will be 6K Bytes.
4. Start your encoding job.
All methods mentioned in guide had tested and passed at:
1. WinXP SP1 +WMFormat 9 with AP
2. WinXP SP2 +WMFormat 11
If you still have no luck with WMEA, try to do:
1. Uninstall all your codec packs, clear up system registry. Make sure you have no codecs conflict.
2. Download the latest version of WMEA.
3. Install mentioned decoders & WMEA.
4. Try again.
